I am the Yorkshire and Humber regional lead for the LTC programme from June 2010.

I started my career as a Speech and Language Therapist, working with a wide range of people from different ages and backgrounds. I then moved into management roles within healthcare and more recently have been working independently.

I have a commitment to work with organisations, develop partnerships and understanding to bring about improvements to what and how services are offered.

Yorkshire and Humber Regional Updates:

July 2010:

Having taken over the post from Lynne Barr in June, I will be building on the following workstreams;

  • Workforce - Developing the Care Navigator role, supporting interested health and social care organisations, workforce and Higher Education and links with Strategic Health Authority (SHA) Long Term Conditions(LTC) and workforce lead.
  • Infrastructure - Supporting the development of Neuro-alliance networks such as North Yorkshire and York. An initial meeting has taken place in early July to explore and confirm that there is sufficient interest in developing one or possibly several smaller alliances across the North Yorkshire and York area. There are other possible smaller alliances which may also be formed.
  • Promoting a strategic environment for the voluntary sector at the Strategic Health Authority.
  • Supporting and further developing a virtual regional neurosciences commissioning approach to share good practice and knowledge transfer of models of good practice.
  • Developing the links between the QIPP, Personal Health Budget and other Long Term Conditions
  • Delivery Programme Leads for local knowledge transfer of models of good practice between the different programmes.
  • Further workstreams to be identified in discussion with the SHA LTC lead.

For previous regional updates, please see previous editions of the LTC team briefing document.
