North East Regional Updates:

July 2010:

The Tees Valley, Durham and North Yorkshire (TVDNY) Neurological Alliance, North East Neurological Alliance and the North East Neuroscience Network have worked together to develop a new website of the North East Neurological Partnership. The Website has been designed as an information portal for neurological communities in the region.  It is a conduit for communications within and between those communities, it will seek to encourage and facilitate engagement with, and involvement of, all parties interested in improving provision of services and the 'quality of life' for people affected by long term neurological conditions. Work is continuing with the North East Region MND year of care group to develop a local map of medicine pathway.  This work has developed considerable interest from the Motor Neurone Disease Association and may be utilised for the development of a national MND pathway.  All this is a call for agenda items for the next CIT meeting to be held on Thursday 11 March 2 - 4.30 at Middlesbrough Teaching & Learning Centre, Cargo Fleet Lane, Middlesbrough, TS3 8PE.   

In April there was a joint event of the North East LTC Clinical Innovations Team (CIT) and North East Acute CIT. The Accelerated Solutions Event focussed on reducing avoidable and unnecessary emergency and unplanned care.  A document has been produced that peer review suggests will be very useful in setting principles and also planning and commissioning services across LTCs in the North East.
